WORKING IN NORFOLK

Norfolk is a fabulous place to live and work for families and individuals alike.

At its centre, an historic, vibrant, thriving city with its magnificent Cathedral and Norman castle - Norwich is the most complete medieval city in the UK.  It also happens to offer some of the best shopping to be had in the UK (constantly rated in the top 10) and, as UNESCO's first City of Literature, it really is a city of stories.

The city’s historic street layout is typical of a city with such a medieval heritage i.e., completely random! Do not worry though - with the 315ft Spire of Norwich Cathedral for guidance, you won’t get lost and - if you are lucky - you may even glimpse one of the peregrine falcons that return each year to nest there.

It is enchanting and has been the host of many film companies who have used it as a backdrop in some well-known productions. Most recently, the Christmas film 'Jingle Jangle' in case you want to take a preview of what to expect here.

With a wealth of historic half-timbered buildings, cobbled alleys, and ancient pubs we are sure you will be enjoying the myriad attractions for many years. With Europe’s largest covered permanent market, there is plenty of opportunity for some outdoor browsing if you have time.

Why not dive deeper into the amazing contrast of the historic past and the contemporary present architecture and take a moment to stand on Millennium Plain and gaze at the reflection in the glass-fronted Forum at the 15th Century largest church in Norwich St Peter Mancroft standing behind you.

As the only City within a National Park (the unique Norfolk Broads), it really is a treasure. But to further enrich your life here we have: famous seaside resorts and a beautiful 90-mile coastline including Norfolk’s own great barrier reef.  This unique reef comprises boulders, stacks and arches and is likely to be Europe’s largest chalk reef.

Whilst Norfolk has more miles of road than any other county, we have so far managed to resist a motorway, yet getting here is easy. With excellent road links, a fast 90-minute train service to London and just a 30-minute flight from Norwich to Amsterdam to allow for ease of worldwide connections.
