Location: Hingham, Norfolk (NR9) – Office based role
Department: Engineering
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Full time/permanent - 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 5 hrs – finish early)

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work closely with other Mirus functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective & efficient design and development, including Design for Manufacture & Assembly, cost, weight, reliability and performance.

In your role as our Seat Trim & Finish Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute as a key member in the product development process. Having influence on the aesthetic and functional execution of covers and cushions and the attachment methods used. Innovation is at the forefront of this role to find new techniques and develop unique design solutions for our product ranges.
  • Take ownership for the design & development of cushion and covers achieving comfort, reliability, performance, aesthetic, cost & weight targets.
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop the design, taking into consideration supplier capability and piece cost, as well as identifying & exploiting opportunities for technical or commercial advantage.
  • Produce high quality 3D & 2D design definition using Solidworks and PDM, along with supporting documentation.

 

ABOUT YOU

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within a design development capacity, a passion for problem solving and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • Experience of developing product in an aircraft or automotive seating environment desirable.
  • Previous knowledge of CAD and PDM systems, training and assistance will be given if Solidworks is not your primary software.

Desirable:

  • Aircraft cabin interior exposure
  • Diligent, enthusiastic, and driven, with an excellent work ethic, and a “can do” attitude

Personal skills / attributes:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative ideas
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A team player
