Over the next few years, Mirus has ambitious expansion plans that include the extensive development of the existing Hingham facility into the Mirus Technology Park (MTP). This facility will be home to Mirus global operations and will be home to a number of core functions and capabilities.

We are excited to reveal the first stage of this development with the introduction of state-of-the-art composite manufacturing cells and 3D printing capability.

Since its inception, Mirus has been committed to the introduction of advanced composite materials into its seating products to reduce weight and redefine passenger living space environments. Our composite focus is upon the manufacture of high performance carbon fibre structures – both continuous fibre reinforced and forged chopped fibre.

The addition of 3D printing capability will support all core functions at Mirus, from conceptual design studies with RWorks through to jigs and fixtures.

Mirus CEO, Phil Hall speaks of how ‘composite materials are a core part of our DNA. This investment represents a natural deployment of capability for next generation Mirus products. 3D printing is hugely complementary to many of the core business functions and is a fast-moving technology that we need to be on board with.’
