Creating a positive recruitment process
Recruitment at Mirus Aircraft Seating is much more than just filling a role. This year we have worked hard to improve the recruitment experience of those interested in coming on a journey with us at Mirus.
Whether a seasoned professional or new to the working environment, we don’t underestimate the challenge of applying for and starting a new job.
Our aim is to provide all applicants with a positive experience that reflects the way we like to work here at Mirus. Candidates travel through our recruitment process at an appropriate pace, whilst having all the information and opportunities to ensure that the role and the culture at Mirus are the right fit for them too.
Recruitment really is a two way process. We recognise that the people that thrive are those that are aligned to our vision and values, and have a clear expectation of the role they’re entering into. Exactly what that process looks like will depend on the role we are recruiting. Every process allows candidates to meet with their future Manager and ask any questions they may have, but for some, it may also involve a factory tour or time spent looking at and discussing our products and innovations.
Once we have appointed the successful candidate, we work with their teams to create an induction schedule. Of course, this will always include mandatory training, but we also ensure they meet with key people integral to their role to ensure they have the network around them to be successful right from the start.
As a small part of our induction programme, we have launched our Mirus welcome bags with branded technical tool pen, notebook, charger, thermos coffee mug and even chocolate!. We know a new role can be daunting enough without having to worry about the practicalities of your first day, so this includes everything needed to kick start your time with us.
With the Mirus welcome bag being a new idea, and as a thank you for our teams hard work and loyalty, we left a welcome bag on everyone’s desk as a little surprise one morning, and also sent them to our Reading office too.
For our recruits, whether the focus is on getting to grips with their role as quickly as possible to hit the ground running, learning our language and the aviation industry or experiencing the world of work for the first time, our aim is for a recruitment process that is supportive, informative and sets them up for a successful and fulfilling career in the aircraft seating and interiors industry here at Mirus.
