Mirus Aircraft Seating is thrilled to announce that its brand-new Kestrel economy seat has been selected by easyJet for its entire and new A320neo and A321neo orderbook of more than 230 aircraft.
Lighter than any comparable seat, the Mirus Kestrel will deliver easyJet a weight saving of around half a tonne per A321neo aircraft vs their current seat, while providing significant fuel burn and Co2 emission savings which support easyJet’s ambitious and credible sustainability goals. With class leading levels of comfort and passenger living space, contemporary styling using the trademark Mirus design DNA, the Mirus Kestrel will be installed on all new A320neo and A321neos delivered to easyJet from early 2028.
Following an extensive competitive tender process, easyJet chose the Kestrel with an enhanced and bespoke comfort level to elevate the passenger experience of the new easyJet fleet. Fitted with a new trim and finish, the Kestrel showcases customised dress covers and stitching design in a contemporary grey accented with “easyJet orange” branding.
“Mirus is incredibly proud that easyJet, the UK’s largest airline and one of the world’s leading carriers, has placed its trust in us for what represents one of the largest single-model aircraft seat awards ever. This landmark agreement marks a defining moment for Mirus and reflects our shared commitment to enhancing passenger experience and comfort, while delivering sustainability and significant operational cost savings through reduced fuel burn and CO₂ emissions.”
Ben McGuire, Chief Executive Officer, Mirus
"We are delighted to be introducing the Mirus Kestrel seat across our future fleet. This investment supports our continued focus on making our operations as efficient as possible, capitalising on small incremental gains that result in meaningful reductions in fuel burn and Co2 emissions.
“On top of the sustainability benefits, the additional legroom and enhanced comfort these seats will provide will also deliver an improved onboard experience for our customers which we know they’ll love.”
