SALARY: Competitive
HOURS: Full time/permanent - 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 5 hrs – finish early)

About the role

As Logistics Manager, you will lead all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics, transport, line feeding, material flow and inventory management to ensure a seamless supply of components to our production lines and the efficient dispatch of finished goods.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust logistics concepts, line-feeding strategies, and packaging and transport solutions that support lean manufacturing principles and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role requiring strong logistics expertise, process ownership, and cross-functional collaboration with production, supply chain, procurement, and quality teams.

In your role as our Logistics Manager, you will:

Logistics & Material Flow Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient material flow concepts from goods-in through to production line and finished goods dispatch
  • Lead line-feeding strategies to ensure timely and accurate supply of parts to production
  • Manage goods-in, storage, kitting, and internal transport operations to optimise space and efficiency
  • Oversee incoming freight management, ensuring timely and compliant receipt of materials
  • Develop and manage relationships with 3rd party logistics providers and external transport partners to meet service, cost, and delivery targets
  • Create and maintain external transport and packaging concepts to ensure parts and finished goods are handled safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively

Stock Control & Warehouse Operations

  • Manage all warehouse and stock control activities to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability in line with aerospace requirements
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and deliverables related to inventory accuracy, on-time material delivery, and logistics efficiency
  • Implement best practices in storage optimisation, FIFO, and stock rotation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve material availability and reduce waste

ERP & Systems Management

  • Ensure all logistics and warehouse transactions are accurately recorded within the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central experience highly desirable)
  • Analyse ERP data to monitor logistics performance and identify process improvements
  • Support the implementation of system upgrades and digital tools to improve visibility and traceability across the supply chain

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time and in-full delivery performance
  • Coordinate with procurement and production planning to align logistics schedules with production demand
  • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure packaging, handling, and storage requirements meet product and regulatory standards

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the logistics and warehouse team to achieve departmental KPIs
  • Champion lean principles, continuous improvement, and operational discipline within logistics processes
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and AS9100 quality standards across all logistics operations

About you

You’ll combine strong leadership and analytical ability with a hands-on approach and commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards, along with the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Proven experience in logistics or warehouse management within a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Strong understanding of material flow, line feeding, and lean logistics concepts
  • Inventory Management – stock control, inventory accuracy, cycle counting and warehouse layout optimisation
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting – Aligning logistics with production and sales forecasts
  • Transportation & Distribution Management – Coordinating inbound/outbound logistics, freight optimisation, route planning
  • ERP/Logistics Systems – SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar (Microsoft Business Central preferred)
  • Supplier & Vendor Management – Coordinating supplier deliveries, audits, and performance monitoring
  • Data Analysis & KPIs – Tracking delivery performance, inventory accuracy, logistics costs

Desirable

  • Experience in an AS9100-regulated or similar quality-driven manufacturing environment
  • Background in packaging design, material handling, or process optimisation
  • Understanding of import/export compliance and international shipping processes
  • Continuous improvement or Lean / Six Sigma training or certification

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Initiative to work independently with a proactive & supportive approach to Continuous Improvement
  • Change management mindset – implementing new systems, processes, or operational models
  • Must be a reliable and conscientious, demonstrating excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • High level of personal accountability and desire to succeed
