Hours: Full time/permanent - 38 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 6 hrs – finish early)

About the role

As our Senior Material Planner within supply chain you will be responsible for the planning and execution of material supply including managing MRP processes, Purchase Order creation and expediting of supply.

Leading a small team, you will ensure Purchase Orders are raised in a timely manner, delivery dates are confirmed, and material supplied to support Mirus requirements. Additionally, you will manage inventory and Safety Stocks of raw material to support Operations and Sales. The Material Planning Lead will work and engage constructively with colleagues across the Business to understand and mitigate supply risks and develop a plan which has buy-in from key stakeholders across the business, helping to ensure freight is managed using cost effective and efficient processes throughout.

In your role as our Senior Material Planner, you will:

  • Developing appropriate planning parameters within the ERP / MRP system to procure raw materials efficiently. This will consider supply risk, lead-time, efficient ordering quantities and the development of an effective inventory policy.
  • Working effectively with key supply chains in Asia to minimise the total cost of supply to Mirus.
  • Ensuring data in ERP is maintained effectively. Developing and improving on KPI’s to monitor material availability, inventory and the effectiveness of the supporting systems.
  • Expediting material supply as required and working effectively with Category Buyers to create robust recovery plans and sustainable improvements in future part availability.
  • Establishing a dynamic stock control process which supports internal build requirements but projects the business from excess stock procurement.
  • Working with Buyers to create processes to ensure Development (NPI) part supply is robust.
  • Understanding and manage supplier capacity to ensure supply risks are identified and managed. Takes proactive measures to address risks before they impact supply.
  • Maintaining effective and positive working relationships within Supply Chain and across the business.
  • Other activities necessary to ensure the Supply Chain group delivers its objectives.

About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your management expertise within an international Supply Chain capacity, a passion for innovation, analytical and problem solving skills and abilities with a drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • Experience in purchasing, supply chain, materials control, logistics and expediting
  • Experience working within either a manufacturing or engineering industry
  • Experience of operating within both a development and a serial production environment
  • Highly analytical and IT literate (primarily with MS Excel) with an understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing business.
  • Understanding of Logistics and Incoterm
  • Able to contribute to S&OP Meetings across the wider business to ensure Supply Chain are embedded in the process

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics BC ERP systems is preferred although training will be given as required
  • Any experience in operating within an automotive or aerospace business is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to foster excellent relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to details – able to use data to inform decisions and constructively challenge colleagues
