Quality & Compliance Manager
LOCATION: Hingham, Norfolk (NR9) – Office based role

HOURS: Full time/permanent - 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 5 hrs – finish early)
About the role
As our Quality and Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the quality management system, certifications, approvals and business objectives are aligned with the needs and expectations of our customers and external parties, providing strategic direction, leadership and support to various areas of the business, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Utilizing your extensive knowledge and experience of quality management principles, methods, and tools to collaborate and facilitate across functions, you will work within business and regulatory guidelines, being responsible for making key decisions along with providing directional and influential assistance for our products and services, ensuring success whilst dealing with complex and changing requirements in an exciting time of growth.
In your role as our Quality & Compliance Manager, you will:
- Ensures compliance by managing Company approvals, both Mirus Aircraft Seating and Mirus Testing Services, making sure the Company complies with standards and regulations i.e. AS9100, ISO 17025, Part 21 G and Part O. among others.
- Lead and guide the Quality function.
- Communicate with all external bodies/Customers on quality and/or regulatory issues.
- Be responsible for interacting with internal and external stakeholders on quality matters, both Design and Test.
- Manage and improve Mirus’ Quality Management System, helping the business achieve and maintain the expected levels of performance and Customer requirements e.g. APQP, PFMEA.
- Review and translate customer requirements into operational procedures, for Seating and Testing.
- Support NPD programs, design and contract reviews to make sure Quality deliverables are achieved and processes are continuously improved.
- Create and implement audit schedules against required standards, checking requirements are met and report relevant improvements.
- Manage and facilitate responses to non-conformances and to investigate until robust corrective actions and countermeasures are implemented to prevent reoccurrence of root cause, using analytical and collaborative problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Drive the effective and efficient resolution of all quality issues by promoting and facilitating dynamic cross functional structured problem-solving methods and techniques i.e. QRQC, 8-D, FMEA, RCCA.
- Make sure FAIs are completed in a timely manner, ensuring accurate records and documentation.
About you

You will play a key role in ensuring Mirus maintains the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance as we continue to grow and scale our operations. To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
- A degree level or equivalent, desirable in business and/or technical disciplines.
- Strong experience in working with Quality Management Systems within the aerospace industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of ISO9001, AS9102, AS9100, ISO17025, CAA Part 21G & J and Defense/Aerospace.
- Proven leadership of a Quality department with in-depth knowledge and understanding of quality management systems and associated regulatory frameworks preferably within the Commercial Aerospace markets or a similar highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- A Form 4 post holder, under CAA or EASA previously.
- Demonstrable success in implementing and leading change using Lean / Quality tools within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques.
- The ability to create process mapping and creation of standard work / operating procedures, processes and policies.
- Personal leadership and facilitation in the deployment of quality tools.
Desirable:
- IRCA Lead Auditor.
- Lean Six Sigma, Green Belt or equivalent.
