LOCATION: Hingham, Norfolk (NR9) – Office based role
SALARY: Competitive
HOURS: Full time/permanent - 37 hrs-Standard shift: Monday-Thursday 8am - 4:30pm, Friday 8am - 1:00pm (finish early). Banked hours for additional hours worked during busy times.

About the role

As a Senior Production Technician, you will contribute heavily to the continuous improvement and development of our products and processes, as well as the training and mentoring of our production personnel.

In your role as our Senior Production Technician, you will:

  • Lead by example in terms of aptitude and attitude for MIRUS production operations.
  • Be the subject matter expert for production assembly processes in your area of responsibility and have high level knowledge of processes and procedures throughout MIRUS production.
  • Support QA with in process and finished goods quality assurance inspection.
  • Report to the Production Supervisor; support them with the day-to-day management and execution of operational plans in accordance with all procedures and works instructions and provide cover for the Supervisor in their absence.
  • Provide training for production personnel in a coordinated and structured manner, ensuring accuracy of training records and competencies of skill.
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement and drive the implementation and sustainment of lean manufacturing in your area of work, using industry best practice tools and techniques.
  • Play an active role and/or lead problem solving activities using structured problem-solving tools such as PPS in cross functional teams.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the development and improvement of parts and processes, as well as supporting development with test and first of type builds; provide feedback as appropriate and ensuring accuracy of documentation and BoM’s.
  • All duties and responsibilities of a Production Technician
  • All other necessary duties; tasks and/or responsibilities as reasonably requested by management.

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Production Technician or equivalent role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement and problem solving.
  • Able to comprehend and compile complex processes
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in production assembly processes, tools, and equipment
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and ability to work flexible hours, as required.
  • Full driver’s license

Desirable:

  • Lean Manufacturing – Yellow Belt or equivalent BIT training qualification
  • Willingness and ability to pass skills onto colleagues
  • Good understanding of people related processes and procedures
  • Ability to use all Microsoft Office suit, Desoutter Pivot ware, and KUKA robot programming software.
