Mirus first look at its latest next generation seat: Osprey

Mirus Aircraft Seating will offer the industry a glimpse into the future with a first viewing of its new Osprey seat at this years Aircraft Interior Expo in Hamburg, marking its first ever premium economy seating offering.
Showing in concept form in Virtual Reality for initial feedback, the Osprey is designed to be packaged as either a business or domestic first-class seat for Airbus A320FAM or Boeing 737 single aisle aircraft, to offer a seamless transition from economy to premium seating areas and to further expand the Mirus family of seats.
The design philosophy at Mirus has always centred around the passenger and maximising their experience onboard with exceptional levels of comfort and living space. The ergonomic, modern contemporary design of its newest offering will elevate the cabin appearance.
“We’ve relished in the challenge to bring our Mirus design and engineering DNA to a brand-new seat class and we’re very proud of the results.
Adam Challenor, Technical Director
“At this years’ AIX Hamburg, we’re holding viewings of Osprey through virtual reality. This will enable us to be more agile and to deliver a seat with a higher level of design maturity and to react to feedback from our customers on key areas of the design ready for the next phase of design and development.”
Osprey will introduce new levels of privacy through its seatback design and wrap around surfaces and offers generous and innovative storage solutions for PEDs and water bottles, phones and more. The Osprey seat also features a generous centre console, the option of a large screen for IFE and customisation options to meet airline branding requirements.
Through the innovative design and architecture of the seats, Osprey will be one of the lightest seats in its class, further supporting Mirus’ sustainability goals in reducing aircraft weight with agile, ergonomic seats.
Mirus Aircraft Seating is offering viewings by invitation to airline and airframers at AIX 2025, Stand #6A70.
